Tuesday Teaching!
Know your worth, defend it with everything you have......against anyone who doesn't appreciate or respect all that you are.
This weeks message is for my precious girl and for all my kids who I have the privilege to teach everyday. I see it in the eyes of my girl, even through her tough self confident exterior. She doesn't fully know her worth...yet. How could any teen fully grasp their worth? They are still figuring out who they are and where they fit in the world.
Knowing your worth does not equate to being egotistical or self involved. The dictionary definition - Self-Worth (noun) the sense of one's own value or worth as a person; self-esteem; self-respect.
Why do I think this is an important message?
I have observed far too many people (young and old) who allow others to devalue them through words and actions. Often that behavior is chalked up to the other person being a jerk or having anger issues.
Here's the deal, it is unrealistic to think there aren't going to be occasional arguments with unkind words. The difference between that and what I am talking about is this, the occasional argument or unkind word isn't abuse. Continually saying or doing anything to tear down another person is ABUSE.
For anyone reading, know this: NO ONE has the right to tear you down or to disrespect you.
This is a really beautiful post and sends such a powerful message!❤
